Piper Scholars Program
By Invitation Only
Four-year scholarships are awarded to academically promising and superior high school seniors in amounts sufficient for their needs to attend the college or university of their choice in the State of Texas. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens/Permanent Residents and Texas residents. Students selected and named Piper Scholars must maintain a "B" average throughout their undergraduate college career to remain in the program.
Upon invitation, nominations are made by principals or counselors for invited high schools in certain counties throughout the State of Texas. Selection is made by the foundation Scholarship Committee after eliminations which include review of high school record, aptitude and achievement tests, and personal interview.
The Piper Scholars Program, begun in 1963, is honored to include Phi Betta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude graduates in its roster. Most Piper Scholars continue through Graduate School.
