The State Energy Conservation Office (SECO) Stimulus Program will provide up to $6 million in federal funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) to ensure that Texas has the skilled workforce needed to obtain employment and meet the growing demands in the energy efficiency and renewable energy industries.

The Comptroller’s office will administer these dollars as the Every Chance Funds with three distinct components:

• Launchpad Fund — awards grants to support nonprofit organizations with programs that prepare low-income students for careers in high-demand occupations.

• Job Building Fund — provides grants to public community colleges and technical schools to help purchase equipment for high-demand career and technical programs.

The JET Advisory Board, comprised of appointees from top Texas leaders, will review grant applications and make award recommendations to the Comptroller’s office.
