Every Chance Funds:
New Money for Career Training

In 2009, the Texas Legislature approved a new $25 million Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) program to help Texans get technical training for careers in fast-growing, “high-demand” occupations. These include high-paying fields such as high-tech manufacturing, computer support, nursing and allied health professions.

The Comptroller’s office will administer these dollars as the Every Chance Funds with three distinct components:

The JET Advisory Board, comprised of appointees from top Texas leaders, will review grant applications and make award recommendations to the Comptroller’s office.
